A weekend full of inspiration, faith, and connection!

Are you ready to deepen your faith and meet new young people? Then mark January 24-26, 2025 in your calendar for WYD@HOME! This year, we will come together at a beautiful new location: the Emmaus reflection center in Helvoirt, near Den Bosch.

During this special weekend, you will discover who Jesus truly is for you and deepen your friendship with Him. You will experience His mercy and what that means for your daily life. Finally, you’ll receive guidance on how to experience Jesus as the foundation, the roots, of your existence. In addition, you can participate in sports and creative activities, and there will be time for conversation, silence, and prayer. Whether you are deeply involved with your faith or just beginning, everyone is welcome!

Program highlights:

  • Workshops on current and inspiring topics, such as Theology of the Body, evangelizing in the digital age, and contemplation and prayer.
  • Catechesis by inspiring speakers, such as Sr. Gaudia Skass and Father Pieter Zimmermann.
  • Fun evenings with campfires, music, and conversations.
  • Moments of silence and reflection, perfect for catching your breath.
  • On Saturday and Sunday, we will celebrate the Eucharist together.

What we will do:

The WJD@Home weekend begins on Friday from 4:00 PM. From that time onwards, you are welcome to arrive, take a moment to rest with the Blessed Sacrament, explore the site, and settle in. There will be opportunities to play games and get to know others who have already arrived.

At 6:00 PM, we will officially start with a prayer led by Bishop Mutsaerts, followed by a simple bread meal.

At 8:00 PM, the programme will truly kick off.

The weekend will conclude on Sunday at 3:30 PM, after an inspiring blessing and missioning by the bishops.

Speakers

Sister Gaudia Skass

Sister Gaudia Skass is a member of the Congregation of the Mother of God of Mercy (Congregatio Matris Misericordiae). This congregation is well-known for its deep devotion to the message of Divine Mercy, as revealed to Saint Faustina Kowalska. During WYD@HOME, Sister Gaudia will share her insights on the mercy of Jesus and how this theme can impact our daily lives. This topic is particularly powerful, offering a new way to look at faith and grace, inspired by the message of Jesus’ unconditional love and forgiveness.

Pieter Zimmermann

“Rooting in Christ with the strength of Mary’s fiat” by Father Pieter Zimmermann, Director of Radio Maria
In this inspiring catechesis, priest and director of Radio Maria, Father Pieter Zimmermann, will take us on a spiritual journey where Mary stands as a model of complete trust in God’s word and plan.

With the theme “Rooting in Christ with the strength of Mary’s fiat”, Father Zimmermann dives deep into the meaning of Mary’s ‘fiat’, her yes to God during the announcement by the angel Gabriel. Mary’s unwavering faith and total surrender to God’s will show us how we, too, can root our lives in Christ.

Father Zimmermann will explain how Mary can help us in our daily lives to follow God’s plan with trust and surrender, just as she did, even in moments of uncertainty. Through her ‘fiat’, Mary becomes a powerful example of love, obedience, and trust, inspiring us to deepen our lives in Christ.

Luc Simons

Luc Simons is a priest and theologian, specializing in the Theology of the Body, as outlined by Pope John Paul II. In this revolutionary view of human sexuality and dignity, John Paul II emphasizes how our bodies and our loving relationships can help us better understand God. During the workshop with Luc Simons, you will have the opportunity to delve deeper into the meaning of our physicality and how this aligns with our faith and our lives as Christians.

This event is also open to English speakers, as the program will be offered in both English and Dutch. Everyone, regardless of the language you speak, is warmly welcome! Visit the dutch version.
