“You too must bear witness, for you have been with Me” (John 15:27)
The Young Catholic Weekend is for you if you long for a faith that goes deeper: a faith shaped through an encounter with Christ, carried by the tradition of the Church, and made visible in your own life. This year, the weekend will focus on witnessing and closeness, as derived from the Bible verse. You are invited to gain a deeper understanding of what it means to follow Christ today, to anchor your faith and to grow in a life of witness.
Main Speakers
You will receive catechesis and spiritual input from:
- Bishop Ronald Cornelissen (Diocese of Groningen–Leeuwarden) – You too must bear witness; on what it means today to be a young Catholic witness.
Deacon Iwan Osseweijer (Diocese of Rotterdam) – for you have been with Me; on adoration, inner conversion, and the place of prayer in the daily life of a witness.”
This weekend is for you!
If you are looking for:
- greater depth in your relationship with Christ;
- clarity about what it means to be a Catholic young person today;
- a faith that does not remain in words alone, but gives direction to your life;
- a community where you can ask questions, deepen your faith and find rest.
What can you expect?
During the weekend you will follow a programme in which catechesis, adoration, silence and encounter alternate, and there is also room for games and creativity. In addition, you can choose from various stimulating workshops that help you connect your faith with today’s reality.
For whom?
For young people aged 16 to 30 who are open to deepening their faith. Whether you are just beginning your journey of faith, have been consciously living as a Catholic for some time, or are simply seeking direction, you are most welcome!
Our purpose
That during this weekend you may discover that real transformation begins in the encounter with Christ. That you may learn to listen, adore, discern, and bear witness from that place.
